BazaarLink can act purely as a router, not a middleman: connect your own upstream account and the bill goes straight to you.
If your key fails, the request doesn't get stuck
The default is "seamless" mode: whether the upstream errors out or your own key fails, the request automatically falls back to BazaarLink's routing to complete — this doesn't guarantee every request succeeds, it just means a failure here won't leave the request stuck. When it falls back, billing follows the platform's regular rates, not free; if you want to guarantee requests only ever go through your own account, you can switch to "strict" mode, which turns off automatic fallback.

Your key, still covered by our filtering
BYOK doesn't mean we hook up your account and walk away. A request that violates our policy gets stopped by our content filtering layer before it ever reaches your own upstream account — high-risk content doesn't get passed through untouched to your account. This is the same filtering rule that applies to requests going through our platform routing; BYOK doesn't get an exemption.

When you'd use this
You have an enterprise OpenAI contract to work through, but also want to use Claude and Gemini, and don't want to maintain three separate SDKs in your code. BYOK lets you plug in your contracted quota while everything else runs through our routing — your code only ever points at one base URL.
